In Bloom (2022) is a 2D illustrated and animated film created for my 2022 senior thesis. This is a self-directed and created film, including the completion of a written thesis to further explain and develop the film's goals and production processes. 

The goal of my senior thesis film is to create a narrative using a combination of illustrated visual development and 2D animation. This is a reflection on my personal journey thus far, transformed into a story for all viewers to relate to and remember as they embark on their own. The film follows the seasons of life as I relate them to the natural seasons of the environment. As you follow the two characters, each environment they interact with represents the purpose of that moment in life. For example, while the summer may bring energy, self-reflection, and progression, the fall may be a moment of confusion, struggle, and anxiety. 

This story is to remind us that despite the strains of a chaotic, uncertain life, it is the foundation of who you are, the memories you have made, and the people you have loved that matter most. We will go about many tiny journeys through our long lives, representing a constant cycle of failing, learning, growing, and improving from our mistakes. At the end of the day, it is who you have always been, who you want to be, and how you push yourself forward that truly defines a joyful life.
